The Philippines’ Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducts Criminology Licensure Examination CLE to assess the intellect, capacity, and skills of aspiring police officers or those seeking for career in law enforcement.

An aspiring professional who has passed the CLE will receive a license, serving as proof that their name is officially on the government’s list of registered criminologists.

How to Apply for the Criminologist Licensure Exam

Interested now? Here are some of the things you need to prepare and submit to the PRC office to apply for the CLE Exam.

  • Birth certificate issued by PSA
  • Marriage certificate issued by PSA (for married applicants)
  • TOR with scanned picture and Special-Order No. and with remark For Board Examination Purposes
  • CHED Certificate of Authentication and Verification
  • Valid NBI Clearance
  • RTC Clearance
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • Registration fee

But wait, before proceeding to the PRC Office, you’ll need to register first online. This is as PRC is now implementing the online application. Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS) for examination, license renewal, and initial registration applications.

  • Register to LERIS and set up an account

  • Select your schedule for an appointment with PRC
  • Pick your preferred payment method and pay for the exam fee

Norms During the Examination Day

Time for the highly anticipated examination day has arrived, here are things you should do.

  1. Prepare the following as these will be needed on the examination day:
    • Notice of Admission
    • Official Receipt
    • Two (2) or more pencils (No. 2)
    • Pens with BLACK ink only
    • One (1) piece long brown envelope
    • One (1) piece long transparent (non-colored) plastic envelope for keeping valuables
    • Horseshoe Microscope or Magnifying glass
  2. Wear the following attire:
    • Male Examinees: Tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo or mark), decent pants or slacks
    • Female Examinees: Tucked-in white blouse or shirts with collar (without any seal, logo or mark), decent pants, slacks or skirt, pony-tailed long hair
  3. Report to the school building before 5:30AM on the first day of the examination to verify your room and seat number. Be punctual because late examinees will not be admitted.
