The Philippines’ Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administers the Agriculturists Licensure Examination ALE to provide license to aspiring agriculturists which will allow them to practice professionally.

The examination, conducted annually, measures each individual’s knowledge, competence, and qualification. ALE has the following contents: Crop Science, Crop Protection, Animal Science, Agri Economics & Marketing, and Agricultural Extension and Communication.

How to Apply for the Agriculturists Board Exam

If you are planning to take the agriculturists board exam, you must prepare the following:

• PSA Birth Certificate
• PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
• TOR with scanned picture and remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” (First Timers and Repeaters)
• Valid government-issued ID (First Timers and Repeaters)
• Two (2) Certificate of Good Moral Character from any of the following:
  • Barangay
  • School
  • Church
  • Employer
• P900.00 payment

Additional Requirements: Ombudsman Clearance (for government employees). After three (3) failures – six (6) months of REFRESHER COURSE (certification under oath).

• Payment: P900.00 – complete
• P450.00 – conditioned/removal

Meanwhile, here’s the college requirements for taking the board exam:

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) degree,
• Baccalaureate Program from school, college, or university accredited or recognized by the government, requiring the minimum nine basic subjects in agriculture, namely: two crop science subjects, two crop protection subjects, two animal science subjects, one soil science, one agricultural economics and marketing and one agricultural extension and communication subject, or their equivalent.

Provided, that a Filipino citizen who graduated from a foreign educational institution who graduated from a foreign educational institution desiring to take the licensure examination for Agriculturist shall be required to have enrolled and passed any of the afore-mentioned courses or their equivalent duly certified by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
