Licensure Examination for Teachers LET Guide and Results
The Philippines’ Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administers the Licensure Examination for Teachers LET twice a year, usually scheduled March and September.
This examination helps determine the fate of aspiring educators if they have the knowledge, competency, and qualification to obtain a license. License which will serve as proof that their name is officially on the government’s list of professional teachers.
To pass the board exam is considered as one of the pinnacles in the life of a teacher – similar to a trophy marking a significant milestone.
LET exam is anchored on Republic Act No. 7836, also known as the Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994.

There are two sets of examinees: one for aspiring elementary teachers and another for aspiring secondary (high school) teachers. The former will take General Education and Professional Education, while the latter takes the same exam plus an assessment for their specialization subject.

Special e-Oath Taking of New Teachers on November 14
Passers of the recent licensure examination for teachers will have their oath taking ceremony on November 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The PRC has made the announcement on October 17.
The oath taking will be held online through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. It will be administered by PRC-Cebu.
Inductees shall wear formal or business attire and use a white backdrop throughout the ceremony.
To join the ceremony, secure an appointment via PRC website and select e-OATH as transaction. Registration closes five calendar days before the virtual oath taking.
Inductees are required to print the OATH OF PROFESSIONAL from the PRC website.

How to Apply for the Teachers Board Exam
If you want to become a candidate to become a professional teacher in the country, you must meet one of the following educational qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent
- Have finished a bachelor’s degree in another field and must have at least 18 units in Professional Education
- A bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences with a minimum of ten units in professional education and holders of Early Childhood Education (BECED) degrees
- A bachelor’s degree and at least 18 units in professional education is also a requirement to those who want to teach vocational and two-year technical courses
If you have met the educational qualification, here are some more qualifications to take the teachers board:
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- A Filipino citizen or alien whose country has reciprocity with the Philippines as per RA 7836 as amended by RA 9293
- Must possess good moral character and reputation with moral values, must not have been convicted by court for final judgment for an offense involving moral turpitude
If it’s your first time to take the LET Exam, you must submit your application with the following documents:
- A printed copy of appointment schedule
- Original and photocopy of Transcript of Records, bearing the school seal, date of graduation, with scanned photo, and remark For Board Examination Purposes Only
- Original and photocopy versions of Birth Certificate issued by PSA
- Examination Fee
- Married applicants must provide an original and photocopy of marriage contract issued by PSA
- Original and photocopy versions of any government-issued ID
- Photocopy of the Special Order (SO) duly signed by CHED if your school is not exempted from the issuance of SO
Applicants re-taking the teachers board, on one hand, has to prepare the following documentary LET exam requirements:
- A printed copy of appointment schedule
- Original Notice of Admission (for the previous examination)
- If NOA is no longer available, present a photocopy of TOR
