And somebody did that. Joel Torre treats Mindanao children with free meals, took place at Datu Sa Biwang School on World Food Day.

Joel Torre Gives Free Meal to 340 Children

Netizens praised award-winning veteran actor and restaurant owner Joel Torre after he provided meals to 340 students at an elementary school in Mindanao on World Food Day.

According to a Facebook post by the World Food Programme, Torre personally cooked, prepared, and served food to the 340 students of Datu Sa Biwang Elementary School in the Bangsamoro Region.

“Joel Torre, a veteran actor and owner of JT’s Manukan Grille, prepares chicken and vegetables for 340 kids at Datu Sa Biwang Elementary School on #WorldFoodDay,” it can be read.

“Datu Sa Biwang Elementary School is among the 9 schools in the Bangsamoro Region implementing the home-grown school feeding programme.”

Torre Says He’s Humbled Support WFP Program

“By providing hot, nutritious meals daily, the programme helps improve education outcomes while supporting their nutritional needs.”

Meanwhile, Torre’s response to the World Food Programme’s appreciation post can be seen on his restaurant’s Facebook page.

“Honored, humbled and grateful to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. UN World Food Programme (WFP) partners with JT’s Manukan Grille in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to celebrate World Food Day,” he said.
